This guide provides an overview of the resources and tools for rural and urban planning law research available at the Sir James Dunn law Library.

Finding Legislation

Legislation (statutes and regulations) exist at the federal and provincial levels. Some areas of jurisdiction, such as environment, can be shared among levels. Most planning issues will involve provincial legislation. Municipalities may also pass by-laws that impact planning.
